Space Saving Wall Mounted Desks

More and more people are starting businesses and side-hustles or opting to work from home (at least part of the time).

When you live and work in a small space it’s important to be able to concentrate on the tasks at hand without sacrificing comfort.

That means you’ll want a workspace that’s big enough for all the tools you need to accomplish your daily goals, small enough to fit in a small room or corner, and comfortable enough to ensure that you’ll work without feeling cramped.

That’s a tall order!

Wall-mounted desks are brilliant space-saving options.  If you prefer a standing desk, there are many that can be hung on a wall. I’ve found 6 styles of wall-mounted desks that should be just what you’re looking for.

Okay, I’ll confess…I live in a small house and my desk is in my laundry room. It’s really supposed to be the counter where you fold clothes when you take them from the dryer but it’s my desk.

It is wall-mounted so I’m counting it as a space-saving desk choice for this post!

My 6 Best Space Saving Choices

So what are your options when looking for a desk for your home office?  These six great space-saving choices are all available at (affiliate).

#1 – By Porch and Den

Porch & Den RiNo Arkins Brown Mahogany Wall-mount Laptop Desk

This is the RiNo Arkins Brown Mahogany Wall-mount Laptop Desk.

It has sixty-five 5-star reviews!  One buyer said she uses it in the living room for her laptop but she intends to purchase another …

“…for my vanity area. My lighted makeup mirror fits well in in this desk. The cubbies are perfect for cosmetics and supplies…”

With five cubbies, a corkboard, a bill organizer and a drawer, there’s plenty of storage.  The desk top measures 24-3/4″ wide and 13-1/2″ deep.

#2 – By K and B Furniture Co.

This is a beauty, isn’t it? It’s such a space-saver but works like a typical stand alone desk.

K and B Furniture Co. Inc. Wood Wall-mounted Desk

This wood wall-mounted desk folds up and out of the way when it’s not in use. It has a generous work surface that’s 30″ wide and 18.5″ deep.

It’s made of wood and comes in either a black finish (shown) or a white finish.

One reviewer said this:

Instead of working on the dining room table, I needed a fold up wall desk by the dining room window.

#3 – By Harper Blvd.

Harper Blvd Shaw White Wall Mount DeskThe Shaw desk by Harper Blvd. is available at It’s got a pull-out tray for a keyboard; it has two generous textured drawers and an outlet for cords.

It’s designed with a slight Scandinavian flair,  a white finish and brushed nickel hardware.

This desk can be hung at whatever height works best for you…if you’d rather have a standing desk, this would be ideal for that.

With the addition of a counter-height stool, you can either stand or sit.

If you want to use a desk chair, go ahead and place the desk on the wall at an appropriate height.

#4 – By Ameriwood Home

Ameriwood Home Jace Wall-mounted Desk

The Altra Jace Wall-Mounted Desk is a modern style desk that almost looks like stand-alone furniture but it’s not.

It’s wall-mounted and it has a very generous work surface. There are six open shelves, a large top shelf, and a lower shelf that will be perfect for storing your power cords and to store reference books.

It’s available in a light walnut finish or an espresso finish.  It’s noted that you will want to have help putting it together since it’s a larger wall-mounted desk than most.

All of the reviews are great. One reviewer said, “Looks good and was easy to install, pretty awesome.”

#6 Transitional Wall Leaning Ladder Desk

Transitional Wall Leaning Ladder Desk and Bookshelves

I really love this option.  It’s a beautiful piece of furniture on it’s own but when combined with the two optional shelving units on each side, it’s space-saving with lots of display space.

It’s the epitome of modern design. A rich cappuccino finish coats the two shelves and storage drawer to create an upward-expanding visual for the smallest of spaces.

With ergonomics such an important part of work spaces and with home offices becoming more and more the norm, being able to hang these desks at whatever height works best for you is important.  You don’t have to give up style or function!

There are also dozens of home office desks at Overstock that aren’t wall-mounted but are attractive and compact and would fit well into a smaller home.  I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find one that’s perfect for your needs.

With good lighting and a comfortable stool or chair, you’ll be all set.
